Dr. NAZARIO…. Picking up the pieces of a broken…

A vacation cut short for an ordinary faculty, bonding with her two lovely daughters in far-flung Queen City of the South… “Not in my wildest imaginations”, she recalls and the feeling is still there. T’was in early April when a call jolted her from slumber, she was to report on the following Monday as OIC President. She couldn’t believe it, thought it was all a dream. But the current dilemma was, she didn’t have wings to fly back that fast. How could she be in school in time for the Monday, April 14th 2008 to assume the heaviest of all responsibilities her half of a century existence ever did face.

A tumultuous path thereon – the “Margaret Thatcher” Lady with the “iron will” fondly called by a close former colleague, Dr. Sta. Teresa held on to the reins of a college on the verge of collapse. Everything was just a mess – one wouldn’t know where to start. Yet, this lady kept on trying to pick up the pieces, lest they forever crumble into oblivion.

Right now, the cloudiness still hovers, but one is able to see the light, through hard work and a firm mind, drowning is not imminent.

Things put in place, human resources explored, data banks filling up, linkages restored, records straightened, and the college once again is on its path to improvement and progress. Thanks to the people who share their time, ideas and expertise.

These among others put back on track a college bound for derailment.
